Woa....time flies doesn't it?!

Alright, I know. I've been slacking big time in the blog world. But I seemed to have gotten really compfortable with my life running the way it is, and well I just haven't put any effort. So get ready, this might be a long one.

So here's what's been going on. Two weeks ago I went to Toronto. I arrived Friday night and managed to get to Sherri's place without a problem. I had never driven in Toronto before so I was a little worried. We sat around and chatted, drank some wine and just did some catching up. Will, her hubby, was so great. He sat and chatted with us and when he got bored he just went and played his game in the kitchen. Saturday, Sherri and I wanted to walk all day for old times sake and do some shopping. So we did...in the rain. Not just the rain but there was hail and snow. Oh yeah, if we weren't determined to get at least two hours walk in then we weren't going to do it at all. We walked for about 3 1/2 hours that day. I bought some scrap stuff, and so did Sherri. We shopped around and then Will, the sweetheart he is picked us up on his way home. Gotta love men who are considerate and do little things to keep his wife happy. Besides, it's the little things that count. Sherri and Will took me to this tiny little Italian place with the greatest food ever. The waiter was HOT and so great. He kept refilling my wine. Okay, so he was trained to do so, but still a hot guy feeding me wine is good in my books any day.

Sunday I went to Chris & Christine's for their yearly Super Bowl Party. Let me tell you, there's never a lack of food, booze, friends and laughs at these things. The night went well, some watched the game others didn't. There was probably close to 30 people there so I got to meet more of the Toronto Clan.

One of Chris' buddies just had a baby girl a week before and was rushed to Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital for emergency heart surgery. So, the big teddy bear Chris is and those at the party pitched in and raised over $300 to give to the family and help them out. It was nice to see people helping out someone they had never met. The baby is now doing fine and is out of the NICU. Mike & Shelly....congrats on the baby and may she recover quickly.

Watching the Olympics last night I got to see Jeff Buttle skate. His sister and I used to be attached at the hip. I got to see them about a month ago when he skated in Ottawa for the Canadian Championships. Well, guess what....Jeff is bringing home a Bronze Medal for Canada! Not too bad for his first Olympics eh? Congrats Jeff, you certainly worked hard for it.

Um, what else. Oh yeah. Funny story. Just before Christmas I had to go to the City to view some floorplans of a house (it's part of my job). I've dealt with some of the girls a lot and so, for Christmas I brought some chocolates to say thanks for all their help. Anyways, they were having a "slow" day and so, I got to meet a lot of people. I had met probably 10 or so people 5 of which are Inspectors. We got chatting and they asked if they could email me if they had some info to give our office. No problem right? It's good to have contacts and besides, sort of looking for jobs elsewhere and the more people you know the better.

Now, two weeks ago I get an email from one of the guys at the City. He had some concerns about a property and wanted to speak to me about it. So, I emailed him sone info but he wanted to talk about it over the phone. After two days of phone tag we finally got a hold of each other. He really didn't say much about the property other than the guy was an a$$hole. So I thanked him for the heads up. Then he said I should let him know next time I plan on going to the City and maybe we can go for lunch or something. At this point he got quiet. I started to panic and said "yeah sounds good, I'll probably bring one of the new girls with me to show her what it's like over there". He got more quiet and said "um, sure, okay. Well maybe I can give you my cell phone number then". I panicked and veered the conversation away. I got off the phone and went to see Sharon. I said to her "I'm not sure, but I think I was just hit on by a guy from the city. Guys don't usually hit on me so maybe I'm reading this wrong". I got back to my desk and he emailed me "that was awkward". Um no kidding. I emailed back and said it was no big deal. So yeah, he was hitting on me and he emailed me his cell phone. I was going to be brave and go for it. I have nothing to lose right.

Since I couldn't remember who he is I emailed the girl I usually deal with to see what he was all about. I'm making this story a little shorter than it is but this was her response "He's a nice guy, middle-aged divorcee with two colleged aged kids". I just about peed myself laughing! How old did he think I was?! Or as Sharon said "Does he think I look really young for my age?!". I'm 25, and certainly won't be dating any middle-aged men with kids in college. Christ, I just graduated from college 4 yrs ago!!

This weekend Chris & Christine are in town so it should be busy. They did come up in a nice rain/freezing rain/snow/hail storm. Let's hope it doesn't get too bad while they're here. That's trying to ignore the fact that it's supposed to go to, get this, a high of -31C tomorrow! I guess all this nice weather is out the door.

Well that's it for now folks. Raina, like I said I have stories to tell you....regarging lip gloss (wink wink).
