My best Monday Story ever!!

Okay, I had the biggest laugh this morning. A friend, we'll call her Bermuda, was telling me about her weekend and said the funniest thing happened. I'm thinking maybe she fell at the wedding she was at or something along those lines. Oh no! She proceeds to tell me that her friend was on her way over to visit. As she was waiting, her toilet flooded and there was 3 inches of water EVERYWHERE. She had to run downstairs, in her tiny tank top and let the Super know what was going on. He rushed upstairs to help. So, Bermuda, decides to go help soak up some of the water in the washroom and looks over to see all her bras hanging there to dry. Embarrassed, she just kept picking up water so it wouldn't look obvious. Then, she turns around and what did she TOTALLY forget?! A Mr. Dolphin Vibrator!!

*laughing....can't stop laughing!!*

I think I would have died of embarrassment!! She ran in the living room to tell her friend. I asked if she got rid of it ASAP but she said it would have been too obvious, so instead she just left it there!!!!!!! Her hubby-to-be quite enjoyed that phone call at work and couldn't stop laughing. And that my friends is why it is my best Monday Story ever!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Saw II

Okay, I know these types of movies aren't for everyone but I liked it. It was pretty similar to the first and was just as gory. If you're extremely sensitive to crime scene type shows I don't suggest you go see it. Otherwise, if you managed to sit through the first one, you'll be able to sit through this one.

This is a movie which takes place in an old house, and this time the cops can see what is going on, yet they have no idea how to stop it. Does this shit really happen in real life? If it does, I hope I never ever am or know someone who is put through this type of torture. I think after I'd crap myself I'd pass out and hope it's all over with when i wake up. Yep...thats what I'd do.

The 'killer' is certain he's not a serial killer because technically he's not necessarily doing the killing. He's leaving it up to the individual to beat the clock and free themselvs. Do they really want to live that badly? I get his point but I really don't think he's going about it the right way. Why not drop these people off in some poor country and live the life of these people who are starving and fighting to save their life on a daily basis. The sick bastard (pardon my french) who though of these scenes really should be locked up. If anyone can think of this stuff cannot possibly be normal.

Anyways, if you liked the first one it's very similar. If you didn't then you know you wont like this one either! Just remember.... "The Clock is Ticking", and before some sick f*ck decides he needs to show you it is, live your life and enjoy what you have. Love the people around you and tell them you love them.

Tonight, I will be watching Grey's Anatomy and enjoying every bit of that show knowing it's not a mind game like Saw II was. Woohoo!!

Oh yes, I will be having a guest entry soon. Jeff is going to write about his trip to Taiwain...just thought I'd let you all know!

Music anyone?

Alrighty. My weekend was pretty good. I did manage to clean the entire house in steps(wasn't my plan) but it got done. Top to bottom. Phew.

Saturday I got a call from a friend who said her and her family were going to some place in Quebec for some Halloween thing. Apparently this entire street was decorated for halloween and it was amazing. It was an hour and a half drive but her Dad assured her it would be great. So, 9 of us (two of them kids) hopped in two vehicles and made the trek. Guess what. It hadn't existed for two years!! haha Her dad did get teased a lot but it was fun nonetheless. We did have some rockin' tunes kicking in the car. She had two disks with over 300 songs of OLDIES music. Now, when I say oldies I'm talking about 80's early 90's stuff. So now I want my own CD. It will be perfect for my 8 hour drive home at Christmas.

Any good song suggestions ladies?? Here's a few so you know what kind of stuff I'm looking at....oh I can't wait!!!!!

* Good Vibrations - Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch
* My Sharona - The Knack
* Step by Step - NKOTB
* To Be With You - Mr. Big
* Opposites Attract - Paula Abdul
* Black or White - Wacko Jacko
* Like a Prayer - Madonna
* U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
* Footloose - Kenny Loggins
* I think We're Alone Now - Tiffany
* Pump Up the Jam - C & C Music Factory
* Let's Talk About Sex - Salt & Peppa
* You Gotta Be - Des'ree
* I'm Too Sexy - Right Said Fred
* Stay - Lisa Loeb
* One Sweet Day - Boyz II Men feat. Mariah Carey

And I have a tonne more! Woohoo! I'll be singing my little heart out for 8 straight hours! I need some good tunes to keep me busy. So, if you have any suggestions PLEASE let me know! Trish said she'd make me a CD but I may have too many songs for just one CD *wink wink nudge nudge*. What was your favorite song, um let's say, 10 years ago? Some of these songs may not be too old but they remind me of the days back in High School, driving around singing with friends. Trish & Gen...remember singing 'Stay' as fast as we could?! Only us morons!!

Other than that I don't have too much else to fill you in on. My roomy is coming back Thursday! Woohoo! I've been lonely all by myself. I am taking friday off and apparently Jeff has things planned (road trip maybe! Woohoo) I've managed to keep busy and do some crafts. I'd take pictures of what I've done but they are Christmas presents so no such luck ladies & gents! I guess I'll quit here since I am at work and I do have things I have to get done. I needed a break!

My little Monster

Here he is. My little green monster. I brought him home back in March and he was about the size of my finger. He's grown quite fast and he's pretty big. Now, he's the size of my entire hand (if not more). His body & tail is about the same length as the tip of my hand to my elbow. I named him Brice, which means alert and quick moving. Which he is. Especially when I feed him. I don't know any man that doesn't like food and he's no exception. So far, his favs are crickets, watermelon, lettuce, kale, turkey (he needed a thanksgiving too!), carrots, apples and the list goes on. He'll eat anything I feed him.

He was pretty friendly up until a few weeks ago. I took him out of his cage and he got startled. He panicked and jumped off me while I was standing. So he fell about 5ft and would not let me near him. Slowly but surely I'm gaining his trust again. He hasn't been picked up since but he's finally eating out of my hand again which is a good sign!

I gotta take a picture of him while he's sleeping. I've never seen anything so funny. He sleeps in all sorts of positions and doens't seem to care. He'll sleep with his front legs behind him, his body up against the cage, his head leaning down the wood, cuddled into the sand and I've caught him sleeping in his fresh water.

Here he is up to no good. I'm starting to think he's playing a game. Everytime I change his water he poops in it. And I don't mean the following day. I mean, within 5 minutes. But only if I'm home. If I leave he won't do it. A sign he wants attention? Maybe. Or maybe just more food. So, I thought I'd introduce you all to my little monster.
Raina I'm still impressed you held him!!

Grey's Anatomy

Okay, if you haven't caught this show yet you need to! I started watching it last year and fell in love with it. Other than myself and one of the gals from work I dont know anyone else who watches this show. If you're a fan of SMUT this is it!! Believe it or not, Desperate Housewife's is actually getting boring for me. Sure there's a guy being held in a basement, the Pharmacists is a loonie etc. but I just can't seem to get into it this year. Maybe because it's so far fetched? I dont know. But Grey's Anatomy....OH YEAH!!

It's a show about interns and everyone is sleeping with everyone. In a nutshell that's pretty much what it's all about. The show is fantastic for halarious sayings, great quotes, good smut, and beautiful men!

My favorite is George O'Malley who is a surgeon. He's the ONLY one not sleeping with anyone. He was dating another resident but that's over. His heart was elsewhere. He has a crush on the girl who's sleeping with her boss (Grey). But she didn't know he was her boss when they first met, had a one night stand and fell for each other. That's pretty much how the first episode started. I'm hooked. It's one of those great shows you know you'll have a few laughs, but at the same time it makes you think. The funniest saying from yesterday's show was when one of the girls was trying to console Grey because she was feeling jelous towards her boyfriend/boss' ex-wife (which they aren't divorced just yet...). Grey asked if she had any right to be jelous of the ex-wife being around and the friends response was: "You have every right to be jelous. It's your territory and she's pissing all over it!". Note to self, Keep that for future reference.

There was also a funny squabble between a man who was shot in the head and his wife. The man and wife "claimed" the gun went off while he was cleaning it but the following proved otherwise:

Wife: "YOU cheated on ME!"
Husband: "I have a bullet in my head...you SHOT me"
Wife: "THAT doesn't make us even!!".

Needless to say the police arrived and questioned the woman. Can you imagine over hearing a conversation like that?! Later on the husband was talking with some of the interns and said the following "Nothing will make you feel more stupid than cheating on the woman you love. You just don't know what you're missing". Do most men feel this way after cheating? I doubt it. Do most women feel this also after cheating? I doubt that too.

At the end of every show, Grey always says some great saying that makes you think. Last night she said "Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and bitting us in the ass. And when the dam breaks, we can only swim. We can't always deny it. We are tired, we are scared, but denying it doesn't hide the truth. Sooner or later we have to put aside our denial and face the truth. Fears aside guns a blazin'. Denial; it's not a river in Egypt, it's a freakin' ocean. So how do you keep from drowning in it?"

So, next week try and catch this great show. It plays Sunday nights at 10pm!

TGIF!!!

I should have called in sick. Last night, a friend from work stayed over because he was working OT and didn't want to drive home after 12 hours (he lives an hour away). Since we have a tonne of room, we told him anytime the door is open and the futon in the basement is his to crash on. This morning, I wake up get ready and then wake up Mario. He gets himself ready and we hop in the car and drive to Tim Horton's (for those of you in the states Tim Horton's is THE spot in the mornings for coffee). The Tim's near my place was SUPER busy so Mario suggests we go to the one near work. "Sounds good to me" I reply and turn the car around. We are on our way to the Tim's near work and are turning left. Just, oh I'd say two feet, before the stop line the light goes from green to amber. I went to put my foot on the brake but Mario said "Go ahead you have plenty of time". I listened and as I'm halfway through my turn Mario blurts out "OMG, there's a cop right there...I'm sooooo sorry".

So guess how my friday started and my week ended?? That's right a ticket for "failing to stop for a red". Technically, it turned amber AFTER I crossed that stop line and I'm convinced (since he was facing us and looking at the other side of the light) that the left turning lights change at different times at that intersection. I know they do, I'm there at least twice a day. So, next week, Mario and I are going to test out the lights at about the same time I got the ticket. And then we're fighting it. Do we have a shot at a winning argument? I dont know. But, although Mario said he'd take the tab, I feel guilty and I don't think I was totally in the wrong. Plus $180 effin' ticket is something to fight about.

Thank god it's friday and thank god this week is over!!!!!!

My Blog is FIXED!! YAY

Okay, so my day thus far sucked the big one. I felt like crap this am, attempted work, got sent home, been put on a puffer and still haven't slept in 3 days.

My day got better. For one, my buddy Jared called to chat. I love him! He's my now ex-cubicle neighbour (he got promoted and no longer sits next to me *tear*), but is a sweetheart of a guy. I sat next to him for over 3 years and got to know this handsome fellow quite well. We've had many laughs, tested our "do I look busy?" routine on each other, asked for advise & shared stories. Jared called to check up on me to see how I was feeling (after he saw my post below) yet he is the one that is sicker than I am! Jared, if ever you go back to the hospital and want company you know who to call....anytime!!

Then, I emailed a blogger beauty - Jamie - about my Blog problem. It was messed up and I was fooling around with the HTML crap and I was worried to really screw things up. Who was I trying to kid...I know NOTHING about HTML. Nadda thang. Jamie got back to me pronto with some advise and some suggestions. Well guess what! She was right. Okay, so I borrowed some pics from the net. That was okay. My problem was when I thought I'd brake up the pictures with some lines ________ <---like so. And tada...that was the problem!! Jamie, you rock and I owe ya one! Now that my blog is fixed I'm putting a few extra links...and you're one of them. Thanks again!! Now talk to that baby and tell her to get here already! I want to see pictures!!

What else, I've finally warmed up after about 3 cups of tea and I get to chat on the phone tonight with Lisanne. YAY!! My day went from bad to good. Maybe I'll actually get some sleep tonight. Okay, I won't push it. My blog is fixed which was my biggest piss off. So, my lesson learned today, if you need help just ask. Someone is bound to know!

The good, the bad & the ugly

The good. I've been off for two days now.

The Bad. I'm sick. I caught a cold after the wedding, which I'm convinced Chrissy gave to me after she "accidently" drank my Tim Horton's coffee on Sunday morning. I woke up at 3:45 am this morning to drive Jeff to the airport. I know I didn't have to but I thought I'd be nice and send him off (he's going to Taiwan for two weeks). I then came back home and slept for an hour. I haven't been able to sleep since this cold started. I dragged my a$$ into work this morning and at around 8:45am my boss came to my desk and told me to go home. I tried to argue with him but he said he can hear me "barking" through his office door and to go see a doctor. So I did.

The ugly. I am on a 2nd puffer. Which cost me $97 effin dollars!! A little orange tube with air and a little medication in it costs that much. It better make me normal again and while it's doing it's thing it better make me lose 5lbs. Just because. I mean, I do get most of the money back but still. Imagine those that don't!? I can think of way better things to spend $97.00. Clothes, jewlery, purse, wallet, shoes, food, etc.

So, that's my life today. Yay!

Sherri & Will's Wedding

What can I say other than it was absolutely beautiful....and COLD. The ceremony itself took place outdoors. The bride was worried about rain since friday all it did was rain. However, it managed to stop long enough for the big day. Other than it being cold the wedding went smoothly. The men in the wedding were nice enough to give the women their jackets since they were freezing in their sleeveless dresses.

- The view just next to where the ceremony took place. It was picture perfect!

Sherri's Dad walked her down the isle to a non traditional song. It was a little more upbeat but had the lyrics "Let's get married". How perfect! This is my absolute favorite picture of Sherri. She looks like she's practically dancing her way to the gazebo, big smile, looking beautiful and enjoying every minute.

The wedding party consisted of Sherri's sister Jill (The Maid of Honour), her cousin Kristi (Bridesmaid), Kyle (The Best Man) & Karl (The Groomsman). The girls gave up the men's jackets long enough to take this picture.

Sherri & Will met two years ago at a wedding. A friend of theirs thought they'd be a good couple so she decided to play cupid. I guess she was right! After many emails back and forth (Will was working overseas for a good part of their relationship), they fell in love and Will & Sherri both moved to Toronto to start their life together.

Sherri, you looked so pretty and you couldn't have picked a nicer dress. Will, you looked quite handsome yourself! I want to thank you both for having me share your special day.

I am so proud of the both of you for everything you have accomplished in your careers, and for being brave and following what you know is right. Most people would not have taken the plunge to begin a long distance relationship and had either one of you done so, you wouldn't be as happy as you are today.

You make me and others believe that these things truely happen for a reason!

Now here is the final picture. I really have no idea what I was saying or doing but it sure made me laugh. If you can't laugh at yourself the next morning then you know you've had too many rye & coke's and wine. In my case, it was a good night with a lot of laughs and some memories I'll never forget! Sherri placed me at a table with her friends from Montreal. I had a blast getting to know these people and felt at ease the instant I sat down.

So here I am, either singing to Will or giving him advise on taking care of my buddy Sherri. Which is it? I don't know and probably won't ever know! What I do know is it was so much fun, and I can't wait for the next wedding! I LOVE weddings!

Congradulations Sherri & Will !!

Thanksgiving Weekend

It's a long weekend and I'm going to a wedding! My old Roomy Sherri is getting hitched and I can't wait to see her all dolled up. I leave tonight to go to Brockville (aka Brockvegas). Chrissy is nice enough to let me crash at her place for two nights. Tonight I arrive in Brockville, have dinner, go to Sherri's parents for a little gathering. Everyone finally gets to see Mr & Mrs. Hanley's bedroom Sherri and I re-decorated for them while they were in Florida for the summer.

- The almost finished product. The headboard & curtains were hand made. It was sooo much fun. The only thing we didn't pick out was the comforter.

- The sitting room just off the bedroom area. This room was also a dressing room which has HUGE cupboards that us Girls put together. They are about 8ft tall and I think there was 8 of them! We had a little "drill" problem but the neighbour was kind enough to let us borrow his.

Tomorrow, according to my itinerary, I go to the ceremony at Hardy Park around 2:45pm. Then, I hop on a bus and go for a nice little tour of Brockville, which will then deliver us to the hall for dinner. Afterwards let the party begin! How great is that?! I've never been to a wedding that you get to go on a tour in between locations! Good way to keep everyone busy and out of the way. Sunday, there will be a brunch at the Hanley residence and of course the gift opening. Woohoo!

And, for those of you that know me, I dont often wear skirts. Tomorrow I am. I'm going to be dressed like a girl and have to get all prettied up. I'll admit it, I like to get dressed up! Plus, I bought some new clothes which makes it that much more fun. I even bought some cool jewelery!! I had a bunch of cute little necklaces but I left them in my gym bag (of all places) in my hot car when I was moving. Guess what...my shampoo, soap, everything blew up and the cute little necklaces I had turned green. Gross! So, I'm slowly starting up my collection all over again. Kinda fun to be honest. Otherwise I wouldn't have an excuse to buy more stuff!! Now I NEED it. haha So, hopefully it won't rain, and all goes smoothly. Last wedding I was at was Raina's and it couldn't have went any better!

Cheers to a good weekend and I'll be posting some pics of the wedding when I have a chance next week!

Meal Ideas

Alrighty....I've come to the conclusion that I really suck at finding some good meal ideas. We're always eating the same things and we're starting to get bored. I'm sitting here at work waiting for my new list of properties to visit when I thought "Hey....I wonder if the 'Bellas of Blog' can help me out?!". So, I'm throwing out a challenge. Well, it's not really a challenge, but I'm hoping that I'm not the only one who has this problem. My roomy and I take turns making meals but we're still in this rut.

So, if any of you have some good, healthy recipes I'd love to hear them! I think I'm going to start my own little binder of recipes. I have a tonne of recipe books but you never know just how good they are; until you spend your time & money only to find out the recipe just isn't that great. Recipe's coming from friends usually are great so let's hope this works! Be sure to pass this site to a friend (or two) and maybe we can get a recipe exchange going. Sort of like Raina's postcard idea!

Have a good one and I can't wait to get some new recipes in my belly!

A beautiful Sunday

Well, I woke up this morning to Jeff slamming every possible door in his path. He's like my Mother. As a teenager, I was never able to sleep in because my room was just on the other side of the bathroom wall and just above the kitchen. Two rooms that have cupboards in them. That would be the first thing would hear on a Saturday morning. Now my roomate is the EXACT same way.

So anyways, I get up, take my shower and march on downstairs. Jeff was making us breakfast. Bacon, eggs, toast and a smoothie. YUMMY! Yep I was stuffed after that. Then, we sat there and had no idea what to do today. We had to get out of the house because yesterday was spent watching the last 6 episodes of 24, Season 2.

So, Jeff suggested we go take a hike in Gatineau Park. I have been living in Ottawa for the last 3 years and had not been there yet. I was so excited. My favorite time of year is Fall and it's finally here. I love the leaves changing colors, I love the cooler temperatures and I love everything about it. Taking walks, driving around, sitting out with friends is so much more enjoyable when the scenery is that much prettier. So, we packed some water, a camera and put our sneakers on. Let me tell you, it's absolutely beautiful. We didn't get to go in some of the trails because there was so many people that the parking lots were full and they wouldn't let anyone in. We found a "trail" a little further down and started to walk. It ended pretty quick but we did get some nice pictures.

I'm hoping to go again when the leaves are a little more colorful and hopefully there won't be as many people who have the same bright idea. I can't believe how big this place was. I knew it was a popular spot but was unaware of the size of the Gatineau Hills.

Now I'm sitting around waiting for Desperate Housewives & Grey's Anatomy to start. I guess I'm going to go Blog Hopping and catch up on everyone's lives. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend as much as I did. It will be one of the last before the cold starts to set in! Yay for snow! I love it!!!
